Text: 2Samuel 11vs 14-15,” In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it with Uriah.15 In it he wrote, “Put Uriah out in front where the fighting is fiercest. Then withdraw from him so he will be struck down and die.”

Mission field is one of the most dangerous and hottest places of battle. It is where the habitation of the cruelty or wicked are located (Ps 74 vs 20).

Deut.7vs1” When the Lord your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you”

Our world is gradually becoming border less. It is gradually becoming more difficult to say that a certain place belongs to certain tribe or people. Migrant is the word for both immigrants and emigrants.
Emigrants are those who leave us to other places. While immigrants are those who leave their places to come to us.
Diaspora is defined as voluntary or involuntary migration of people. People move on voluntary basis on education freedom, economic, betterment, human equality. Consequently, people are being moved for involuntary reasons refugee, war, persecution, disaster, famine, human trafficking etc.
Diaspora missions is a kind of involuntary coming of Muslims and non-Muslims in area that are alien to them. It is then our responsibility to voluntary present the Gospel to them.
According to Dr. Tetsunao Yamamori, senior advisor, Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, Diaspora missions is a missiological framework for understanding and participating in God’s redemptive mission among people living outside their place of origin.
Diaspora missions requires an intentional approach with an end purpose in mind and deliberately choosing to act out your core values or belief towards that purpose, rather than react out of personal wounds and subsequently lies we have believed.
Unless we are intentional with why we are here and what we ultimately want to accomplish, fulfilling great commission will be a mirage.
The followings are essentials in Diaspora Missions:
1. Visions and Passion
Vision is not a function of the physical eye. If it is so, somebody like Fanny Crosby wouldn’t have done what she did.
Vision is not a function of past failure, if it is so, Abraham Lincoln and Mohammed Buhari failed several times before they became presidents of their nations.
Visions is not an issue of background, if not, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, William Kumuyi and Mattheu Ashimolowo wouldn’t have attained anything in their lives.
Vision comes from our daily dissatisfaction with status quo. The key word for vision after seeing is passion. There has never been anyone who achieve anything of value without genuine passion. Passion is ignited by vision. Passion is the starting point for all achievement. It is the energy that fuels our dream in Diaspora missions.
There are 3 components of Vision for Diaspora Missions:
I Purpose (Vision statement)
ii Target, we must set an achievable target for ourselves if we would succeed in Diaspora Missions.
iii. Strategy, your strategies must be well orchestrated and finetuned.
2. Planning and Implementing Diaspora Mission Vision.
Planning is very crucial in Diaspora missions. It makes a seemingly big or great work easier. Jesus also taught us on the need to count the cost before embarking on project (Luke 14vs28-32). We also plan because of the urgency of missions and our danger in ignorance. We plan because finishing the task is linked with the second coming of our Lord (Matt 24vs14)
There are practical five steps to planning Diaspora Missions. These are
i. Define Goal. This talks about what you want to do
ii. Define action step. How are you going to do it?
iii. Schedule action step. When are we going to do it? Always endeavour to set deadline to achieving what you want to do.
iv. Delegate the work. Who is to do the work? Write the name of the person beside each action step.
v. Determine the financial cost; find out the financial cost of each step.
3. Six-month action plan is essential. In this part, you write what you must achieve within this period and evaluate it after the period.
Finally, if we can tarry, the power will come and the diasporas themselves flock to where we are and captivate them for Jesus Christ. It is better to pray without result than to see result without prayer- prayer in this regard, shows our dependent on God.
